Eleven to Seven

My sock of the mo':

(flickr)

They're called Nine to Five, by Nicole Hindes. I love how easy the twist is to do, and no cable needle is required! Progress is slow but rewarding. I shortened the ribbing a little bit, and I think I'm going to make the sock a little shorter, too--I want to wear these with my ballet flats, maybe with a skirt. I'm so happy that San Francisco has so much good skirt weather. Well, during the day, anyway. -_^ I call these "Eleven to Sevens" because that is the most dreaded shift at work. I'll take a 4:15-noon any day.

My "non-sock" knitting project has been Mason Dixon Ballband dishcloths--so addictive! Something else to put in my "hope chest" for whenever I get my own place. Don't let the phrase fool you--no cedar here, just assorted grocery bags and plastic totes filled with yarn-y stuff.

In other news, on Tuesday I had my first bad sushi ever. Not bad as in bad tasting, but as in bad for my tummy. Woke up in the middle of the night wondering why my stomach chose that moment to mutiny. Needless to say I'm not going to that place again.

I think I may have said this before, but I'm on the cusp of buying a microphone. I asked around, looking for a store that might have one in stock so I can play with it before I buy, but alas, San Francisco is lacking in that respect. (A guitar center was my best bet, and while a very nice store, is understandably lacking in interview mics.) So as soon as I can muster up the courage I'll be clicking for it on Amazon. Also on the list--microphone cord, headphones, external hard drive, mini disc recorder, blank media... not all at once, of course.

Another weekend at work--tourists, we're ready for ya!
